It started in Kenya. For years, the swine fever virus was only present in Africa, so it was named it. With the virus, the virus was transferred to Georgia. From there he moved to Russia. It quickly spread to the east of China and also to the west of the European Union. The plague is now present in the eastern parts and probably also due to the human factor in the west of Belgium. Otherwise, the main vector of the disease is wild boar.
African swine fever for humans is not dangerous. We are just carriers, the virus can be kept on contact with clothing, footwear even on car tires. Despite the fact that the virus does not endanger us, in the future, we will suffer from serious economic consequences due to this insidious illness.
